What words stand out for you? When I looked at this wordle, I was struck by a couple of things…
First the dichotomy of “Ask” and “Provide”. As volunteer managers, it is important that we do a lot of both. We can not know what our volunteers are thinking, feeling or wanting without asking. At the same time, I remember that my mom always says that when you are supporting someone (such as when they are sick or have experienced a loss) it is best to just do something for them rather than asking “What can I do for you?”
Second, Training got a lot of attention in our discussions. Training for both volunteers and volunteer managers is such a critical part of a successful program or in implementing a change.
